Salad For Traveling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn
    1/4 c. celery
    1/4 c. onion
    1/4 c. green pepper
    1 c. drained water chestnuts or slivered almonds
    1 pkg. uncooked green peas, thawed
    4 hard-boiled eggs
    crisp bacon
    tomato wedges
    2 c. mayonnaise
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    Parmesan or Romano cheese
Preparation
    Tear lettuce and place in 18 x 9-inch dish; add celery, onion, pepper, peas and water chestnuts.
    Mix sugar with mayonnaise and spread over salad mixture.
    Cover with grated cheese and chill overnight.
