Damson Plum Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 c. plums (after cut from seeds)
    8 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Wash plums and cut from seeds.
    Save seeds and wrap in cheesecloth; cook with plums.
    This gives plums much more flavor. Combine all ingredients.
    Cook on low heat until sugar is melted and then bring to rapid boil.
    Reduce heat and cook slowly 45 to 50 minutes, or until jelled.
