Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. sugar
    6 egg yolks
    1/2 tsp. salt
    8 c. milk
    1 can evaporated milk
    6 egg whites
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Beat 2/3 cup sugar into egg yolks.
    Add salt; stir in milk and evaporated milk.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture coats spoon.
    Remove from heat.
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Gradually add 6 tablespoons of sugar, beating to soft peaks.
    Add to custard and mix thoroughly.
    Add vanilla. Serve hot.
    Dash with nutmeg.
    Refrigerate leftovers.
