Fresh Broccoli Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 bunches fresh broccoli
    1/2 lb. bacon
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/2 c. light mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. vinegar (white or apple)
    1/4 c. sugar (use 1 Tbsp. less if using red onion)
Preparation
    Wash broccoli; cut florets off and dry on paper towel. Microwave or fry bacon until crisp.
    Place on paper plate lined with paper towel.
    Wipe off excess grease.
    Cool and crumble.
    Chop medium onion; place florets, bacon, onion and cheese in a bowl. Mix together.
    Refrigerate while mixing dressing.
    In a quart bowl, add mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar.
    Mix with fork or whisk.
    Add to salad 1/2 hour before serving.
    Serves 6 to 8.
