Pork Steak Vegetable Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium potatoes, cut in 1/2-inch slices
    1 large carrot, sliced
    4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 envelope dry onion soup mix (1/4 c.)
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
Preparation
    Place potatoes and carrots in bottom of an 11 x 7 1/2 x 1 3/4-inch dish.
    Trim fat from steaks.
    In large skillet, cook trimmings until there are about 2 tablespoons oil; discard trimmings.
    In hot oil, brown steaks well on both sides.
    In a small pan, combine water, onion soup mix and soy sauce; bring to boiling.
    Spoon half soup mix over potatoes and carrots; top with steaks.
    Spoon remaining soup mixture over steaks.
    Cover and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
    Uncover and bake 10 minutes more. Makes 4 servings.
