Spiced Sweet Oranges - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 medium sized lemons
2 Tbsp. whole cloves
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 (3-inch long) cinnamon sticks
4 bay leaves
16 kumquats
16 small oranges
1/4 c. dried cranberries

Up to 3 days ahead:
Squeeze enough juice from lemons to equal 3 tablespoons; cut remaining lemons into 1/4-inch thick slices. Set lemon slices aside.
Tie 1 tablespoon cloves in cheesecloth to make a spice bag.
In 3-quart saucepan over high heat, heat spice bag, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, kumquats and 5 cups water to boiling.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Pour spice-syrup mixture into large bowl; discard spice bag.
