Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    1 c. fresh corn
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1 c. milk (homogenized)
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 egg
    chopped jalapenos to taste
Preparation
    Combine all dry ingredients with milk, egg and oil and mix well.
    Stir in remaining ingredients and bake in a well greased iron skillet at 350\u00b0 until golden brown.
    Serve hot with ham hocks and greens and a glass of ice tea on the side.
