Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. green peppers
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 c. pitted ripe olives, chopped
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
dash of pepper
8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. cold water
1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Cook beef, onion and peppers in large skillet until meat is browned and vegetables are tender.
Stir in tomato sauce, corn, olives, garlic, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, chili powder and pepper. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until thick.
Pour into greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle with 6 ounces of Cheddar cheese.
