Mom'S Hickory Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine or shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 c. finely chopped hickory nuts
4 stiffly beaten egg whites
Preparation

Cream, until fluffy, the butter, sugar and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk.
Beat until smooth and then add stiffly beaten egg whites and nuts.
