Risotto - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. rice
    1 sliced onion
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    4 c. soup
    1/2 bay leaf
    1/2 c. grated cheese
    pinch of cloves
    pinch of thyme
Preparation
    Lightly brown rice and onion in shortening.
    Bring soup to a boil. Add rice, onion, bay leaf, cloves and thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook, covered, on low heat until rice is tender.
    Add cheese just before serving.
    Serve with chicken.
