Ingredients

3 lb. beef round (1/2-inch thick)
1/4 c. flour
3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 Tbsp. lard
1 c. apple cider
2 small onions, sliced
1/4 tsp. ginger
3 whole cloves
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. sugar
Preparation

Dredge meat in flour. Season with salt and pepper. Brown meat in large skillet; add cider, onions, spices and sugar. Cover tightly and cook over low heat 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.
