Refrigerator Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 beaten eggs
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. whole bran cereal
    1 c. bran flakes
    2 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix water with soda; cool.
    Cream shortening with sugar; beat in eggs.
    Sift flour with salt.
    Add creamed mixture alternately with cooled liquid.
    Stir in cereals and buttermilk; put in covered container in refrigerator.
    Can be used for weeks as needed.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Mixture improves after second day.
