Double Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. chopped apples
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar.
    Beat in 2 eggs.
    Add apples and vanilla.
    In a large bowl mix flour with cinnamon and baking soda. Mix the 2 mixtures.
    Core 2 to 3 apples; cut into thin wedges. Arrange some wedges on sides of well-greased 9-inch round, 1 1/2-inch deep cake pan.
    Spoon in batter, level.
    Arrange remaining wedges on top.
    Drizzle 2 tablespoons butter over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 minutes.
    Glaze apple topping with 1/4 cup melted currant jelly.
