Mexican Hominygroves, Texas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 slices bacon
2 large onions
1 green pepper
1 2 lb. can tomatoes
1 Tbsp. flour
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp. chili powder
Salt, pepper, sugar and cayenne
2 2 lb. cans hominy
1 lb. sharp cheddar cheese
Preparation

Fry bacon to a crisp.
Remove back from skillet and add sliced onions and chopped green pepper to hot bacon grease.
Cook 20 minutes.
Add tomatoes, flour and mix with a little water and all the seasonings.
Cover and cook slowly one to two hours.
Add hominy and let simmer 10 minutes or longer.
Just before serving, add the grated cheese and bacon, broken up.
