Pineapple Upside Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 (8 oz.) can sliced pineapple, drained
    7 maraschino cherries
    3 eggs, separated
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. plus 1 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter; gradually add brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
    Spread creamed mixture evenly in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
    Arrange pineapple slices and cherries evenly over creamed mixture.
