Hoppin' John - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large pkg. black-eyed peas (frozen), in 3/4 c. water
    ham hock
    1 can tomatoes
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. chilies
    1/4 tsp. dried basil
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. long grain rice
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients except rice. Cook until done. Add rice. Cook 20 to 30 minutes more.
