Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. apples, sliced
    2 c. water
    cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
    1/2 c. cream or milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 lump butter
    1 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine apple slices, water, sugar, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg in large saucepan.
    Bring to boil.
    Mix together flour and milk; cream until well blended.
    Drop dough from spoon into boiling apples.
    Cover.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
    Serve warm or cold topped with
    milk.
