Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. yellow corn meal
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can cream-style corn
dash of hot pepper sauce
1/4 c. bacon dripping, melted
1/4 c. minced green onions, with tops
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Combine first five ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
Set aside.
In another bowl combine buttermilk and eggs.
Add corn and remaining ingredients.
Pour over dry ingredients and stir until blended.
Do not overmix.
Pour batter into a greased 8-inch square baking dish or pan.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until bread tests done.
Cool 5 minutes before cutting into squares.
