Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 15 medium small cucumbers, iced overnight
    1 c. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 qt. water
    1/4 tsp. dill seed
    red pepper
    garlic
    1/8 tsp. powdered alum
Preparation
    Sterilize quart jars.
    Fill jars with seasonings and cucumbers.
    Add boiling liquid.
    Seal jars.
    Cold pack in canner for 20 minutes.
