Squash Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. squash, cooked, drained and mashed fine
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. self-rising cornmeal or pancake mix
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 medium onion, grated
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, then add enough water drained from squash for consistency to
    drop with a teaspoon in deep fat to form puffs about the size of hush puppies.
    Makes 20 to 25 puffs.
