Baked Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. thinly sliced onions
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    pepper to taste
    3 Tbsp. flour
    3 small cans beef broth
    1/2 c. dry white wine
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter and oil in covered saucepan for 5 minutes.
    Add sugar and salt; cook over moderate heat until onions are transparent.
    Add flour and stir for 3 minutes.
    Raise heat and add broth and wine.
    Season and simmer, partly covered, for 45 minutes.
