Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. stew beef
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 tsp. salt
    6 each: carrots, onions and potatoes, all chopped
    1 c. celery
    1/4 c. flour
    16 oz. tomato sauce
    2 c. hot water
    1/4 tsp. basil
Preparation
    Coat beef with flour and salt.
    In large heavy sauce pan or skillet, brown beef in oil.
    Stir in water, sauce and seasoning. Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add vegetables and simmer until tender, about 45 minutes.
    Serves 6.
