Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. navy beans
    6 c. water
    1 meaty ham bone
    1/2 c. each: chopped onion, celery and carrot
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Soak beans in water overnight.
    Rinse and put into pot. Simmer 6 to 8 hours in a crock-pot.
