Double-Deck Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 sq. melted baking chocolate
Preparation
    Melt shortening; add sugar and eggs and mix well.
    Mix flour and baking powder and add to first mixture.
    Add nuts and vanilla. Divide in half and add chocolate to one half.
    Spread chocolate mixture in 8-inch square greased pan.
    Spread remaining half on top.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
