Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
    3/4 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Melt shortening and chocolate together over hot water; cool. Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
    Beat eggs until light; add sugar and chocolate mixture.
    Add flour, vanilla and nuts. Put into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
