Potato-Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
    cold water
    1 carrot, finely chopped
    1 onion, finely chopped
    1 stalk celery (with leaves), finely chopped
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    2 (16 oz.) cans beans (pork and beans or vegetarian in tomato sauce)
    1/2 c. ketchup
    1/2 tsp. dill weed
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Place potatoes, carrots, onion and celery in large pot; cover with water.
    Add bay leaf and salt.
    Bring to boil; simmer gently for 30 minutes. Add beans, ketchup, dill and parsley.
    Continue simmering.
