Pierogie Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 sticks butter
    3 lg. onions, chopped
    9-12 lasagna noodles
    Mashed potatoes
    1 lb. cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation
    Saute onions and butter. Cook noodles as directed and cool. Prepare mashed potatoes and add some cheese to the potatoes. On bottom of a 9 x 12-inch pan, place a layer of onion and butter, a layer of noodles, then potatoes, then onions and cheese. Repeat layers 3 or 4 times. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. (Egg noodles may be substituted for lasagna noodles.)
