Tennessee Hoe Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. cold water
bacon fat or other shortening
Preparation

Mix thoroughly.
Shape with hands into oblong cakes.
Bake on a well-greased griddle, turning when partly done so both sides will brown.
