Homestyle Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry navy beans
    2 qt. water
    1 lb. meaty ham bone or ham pieces
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 bay leaf
    3 sprigs celery leaves
    6 whole peppercorns
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in crock-pot.
    Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours (high 5 to 6 hours).
    Remove bones, bay leaf, peppercorns and celery sprigs before serving.
    Taste for salt adjustment. Trim meat from ham bone and return cut-up pieces to soup.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
