Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 3/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Put together flour, soda, cream or tartar and salt and stir into shortening, sugar and eggs.
    Chill dough.
    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
    Roll each in mixture of 2 teaspoons sugar and cinnamon.
    Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly browned but still soft (cookies puff up at first, then flatten down) in 400\u00b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes 5 dozen.
