Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3/4 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. whole wheat flour
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. applesauce
    1/2 c. light molasses
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Spray an 8 x 8-inch pan with cooking spray.
    In large bowl, combine flours, brown sugar, spices, baking powder and soda.
    In small bowl, combine buttermilk, applesauce, molasses and eggs.
    Add to flour.
    Beat with electric beaters until mixed.
    Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool 10 minutes.
    Do not substitute all-purpose flour for whole wheat.
