Herbed Lentil Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. water
    3/4 c. lentils
    1/2 c. brown rice
    2/3 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. green pepper, finely diced
    1/2 c. red pepper, finely diced
    1 1/4 c. white wine
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    pepper to taste
    1 oz. grated Cheddar (optional)
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine all ingredients except cheese in a 3-quart ungreased casserole.
    Bake uncovered for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until moist, not runny.
    If using cheese, add to top and bake an extra 5 minutes.
    Serves 4 to 6.
