Triple Treats - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    11 1/2 oz. Nestle milk chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
    14 oz. Kraft caramels
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Melt chocolate chips and shortening over hot water.
    Stir until smooth.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour half of mixture into 8-inch foil lined pan.
    Spread evenly.
    Refrigerate until set.
    Return remaining half to hot water.
    Melt caramels and butter.
    Add water over low heat, stirring until melted and smooth.
    Stir in nuts. Blend well and pour over chocolate chips in refrigerator.
    Spread evenly.
    Refrigerate until tacky (about 15 minutes).
    Top with remaining chocolate.
    Spread evenly.
    Return to refrigerator.
    Cut into squares.
