Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cukes
    1 c. salt
    2 gal. water
    4 c. vinegar
    4 c. water
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 qt. vinegar
    6 c. sugar
    1 oz. allspice
    additional sugar
Preparation
    Bring to a boil vinegar, 6 cups sugar and allspice.
    Pour over pickles.
    Next day, add 2 cups sugar.
    Each day add 2 cups sugar. On the third day, can.
    Put a couple of allspice in each jar.
