Mom'S Butter Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. fresh pork shoulder, small cottage ham, etc.
    1 lb. dried butter beans (soak overnight if you wish)
    1 medium to large onion, chopped
    1 bottle chili sauce
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Put butter beans in water to about 3 times depth of beans; add pork and onion.
    Cook until beans are tender.
    If needed, add water during cooking.
    When beans are tender, salt and pepper to taste and add chili sauce.
    At this point, depending upon meat you chose, you may want to shred bits into soup or serve for sandwiches on side.
    Simmer now about 15 to 20 minutes.
    Hearty, inexpensive and easy!
