Ingredients

11 oz. box dried apricots
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/16 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
3 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Place dried apricots in a saucepan and cover with water. Cover and simmer until very tender, about 30 minutes.
Drain.
Add sugar and salt.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
Allow to cool while preparing cookie dough.
