Bread N Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. medium size cucumbers
    1/2 green pepper (hot)
    1/4 c. coarse salt
    4 small onions
    1/2 red sweet pepper
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. turmeric
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    2 1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers.
    Add salt; cover with ice water and soak for 1 hour.
    Drain and add sugar, turmeric, cloves, mustard seed, celery seed and vinegar.
    Bring to boil and put in jars; seal.
    Makes about 4 pints.
