Old-Fashioned Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 well-beaten egg
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. ginger
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Pour boiling water over shortening; add sugar, molasses and egg.
Beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
Pour into well-greased and floured 8-inch square baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
Cool in pan.
