Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. sugar (optional)
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1/4 c. shortening, soft
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients until smooth.
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Bake in greased pans for 20 to 25 minutes.
