Top Of The Stove Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. water
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    8 Tbsp. butter (1 stick)
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. cocoa
    pecans
Preparation
    In a large Dutch oven, bring water, 2 cups sugar and 4 tablespoons butter to a boil.
    In a bowl or saucepan, mix remaining butter (melted), remaining sugar, egg, milk, vanilla, flour and cocoa.
    Pour this batter into the boiling sauce; turn down low.
    Cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
    When done, sprinkle top with broken pecans.
