Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chopped onion
    1 chopped bell pepper
    2 Tbsp. shortening or fat
    1 lb. ground meat
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 c. uncooked rice (precooked rice)
    1 can English peas
    1 large can tomatoes
Preparation
    Cook onion, bell pepper, beef, salt, pepper and chili powder until done with lid on it.
    Then add rice.
    Place in pan to bake. Pour peas in center of mixture.
    Dab butter, then pour tomatoes over top of all this and bake for 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
