Rio Grande Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    2 slices cheese
    1/3 c. chopped onions
    1 can (16 oz.) pork and beans with tomato sauce
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    generous dash of pepper
    2 tsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper and 1 teaspoon chili powder.
    Shape firmly into 16 meatballs.
    In 8-inch skillet, brown meatballs, pour off fat.
    Add onion and remaining chili powder. Cover; cook over low heat 20 minutes or until done. Add beans.
    Heat; stir occasionally.
    Garnish with cheese.
    Makes 3 cups.
