Ginny'S Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. molasses
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. hot water
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Line a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with wax paper that has been greased.
    Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, then molasses. Combine thoroughly and add dry ingredients and water alternately until all have been added. Continue to beat until thoroughly mixed. Pour into pan and bake 35 minutes. Oven: 325\u00b0. Yield 15-24 servings.
