Chop Suey - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. pork, diced
3/4 lb. veal or 2 chicken breasts, diced
1/2 lb. beef, diced
6 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 c. water (more if needed)
1 lb. bunch celery, sliced diagonally
1 small onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 1/4 c. water
1 (10 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1 (No. 2) can bean sprouts, drained
1 (2 oz.) can mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Brown meat in oil.
Add soy sauce and water.
Simmer 2 minutes. Add celery and onion and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
Will need 1 cup water to thicken.
Blend cornstarch and water to thicken and add remaining ingredients.
Heat thoroughly.
Serve with rice or chow mein noodles.
