Date Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. hot water
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. cake flour
    1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Cover dates with hot water and soda; let stand.
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg, cake flour and chopped walnuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
