Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
vanilla wafers
1 small cantaloupe
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler; stir in milk.
Cook over boiling water, stirring until thickened.
Cook 15 minutes more, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat; add vanilla.
Line bowl with wafers; top with sliced cantaloupe.
Pour some custard over cantaloupe; continue layers, ending with wafers. Serve warm or chilled.
Serves 6.
