Inspiration Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 sq. Baker's chocolate, grated and reserved
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. unbeaten egg whites
1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add shortening, milk and vanilla.
Beat with electric mixer for 1 1/2 minutes.
Add egg whites and beat for 1 1/2 minutes.
Grease and lightly flour 2 (9-inch) spring-form pans.
Sprinkle bottom of pans with chopped walnuts; spoon 1/4 of batter into pans on top of nuts.
Sprinkle grated chocolate reserve over batter.
Pour remaining batter and spread evenly over chocolate layer.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
