Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. popped corn
    1 small jar Brer Rabbit molasses
    1/4 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. cider vinegar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    5 Tbsp. vegetable oil or shortening
Preparation
    Discard all hard corn kernels.
    Use a large pan (such as turkey roasting pan) to mix in.
    Combine syrup, sugar, water, vinegar and salt; cook slowly, stirring constantly to 270\u00b0 or to hard ball stage (test by dropping a spoonful in cold water).
    Remove from heat; add vanilla and oil, stirring only enough to mix.
    Pour over popped corn, stirring constantly until all corn is coated.
    Slip Baggies on both hands; grease lightly.
    Work quickly; shape lightly into balls.
    Put popcorn balls on wax paper to cool, then wrap each in its own Baggie.
