Speedy Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. milk
    2 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt margarine in large saucepan.
    Blend in brown sugar.
    Add salt.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly 2 minutes.
    Then add milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
    Add powdered sugar.
    Add vanilla; mix well. Spread on cake.
    If icing gets too thick, add small amount of milk or cream.
    May add pecans or walnuts if you like.
