Grape Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 gal. grape juice (unsweetened)
1 c. water
2 Tbsp. melted shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
Preparation

Mix water, shortening, baking powder and add flour until a stiff dough is made.
Roll out very thin on floured board; cut into pieces 2-inches long and 1-inch wide.
Add sugar to grape juice and bring to a boil.
Drop dough pieces into grape juice and cook 5 minutes at boiling heat, then simmer 10 minutes with lid on pot.
